Part of Law Courts Miscellaneous

Antonino Sammut is accused of theft and of assisting the thief Thomas Farrugia and harbouring him. In September, Theodoro di Mathera had come to Malta from the kingdom of Sicily with two caches of mixed goods and was staying with Antonius in Burmula. A list of the textiles and other goods related to weaving contained in these chests is provided. Sammut is accused of stealing from them and then also of (together with Jacobus Virun, being both of them Sottovisconti of the MCC) abusing of his position to keep the thief Tomaso Farrugia hidden in a garden close to their home. They were also planning their escape from Malta.
