The sepia-coloured image depicts Christ kissing a child. The image is a memento to commemorate to consecration of the University of Malta to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This was celebrated by the Archbishop of Malta Dom Mauro Caruana, in the presence of the Minister of Education of the time, Francesco Ferris. This consecration was the initiative of the University students and with the blessing of the Rector Temistocle Zammit and all the Academic Corps.
